Today I’m posting FOUR creations from the brand new Vintage Summer Basics by Maja Design. Marie has done an amazing job creating this new collection. As usual it’s very versatile and comes in several different colour schemes so there’s something for everybody.
The postman delivered them just in time for the Easter holidays, so I have been totally soaked in Vintage Summer Basics this weekend.
I surprised myself by falling in love with the pink papers! I’m pretty good at falling in love with beautiful papers, but I don’t remember ever liking pink papers this much.
All papers in this posting are from the Vintage Summer Basics collection and have all been distressed with Distress Ink Walnut Stain. I will only name the papers used.
Those of you who visited my blog yesterday and saw the sneak peeks know that I’ll be sharing one tag, one card, one box with drawers and one layout today.
So, let’s start out with the layout…
I took this photo in the small village of Andahuaylillas in Peru. The village was a real treat. Birds were singing, the farmers were sitting on benches resting after a hard days work. It was like the time had stopped.
The pink background paper is called 1922. I have used the Martha Stewart Double Arches Punch Around The Page set for the 1921 paper and handstitched it.
Time letters has been cut out with my Gazelle, paper Memories. I have used the Weathered Clock die by Tim Holtz/Sizzix for the clock (paper 1922). The butterfly has been cut out with the same paper using a Martha Stewart butterfly punch. I added some Distress Stickles Rock Candy to make it sparkle. Roses from Wild Orchid Crafts.
The vintage couple has been cut out from the 1926 paper. The wrinkled border is from 1922. So is the floral paper that has been cut out with the Swirling Lace punches (Martha Stewart). The paper with text on is called 1891 and has been punched with the Cherish punches, also by Martha Stewart.
The photo mat has been cut from the 1933 paper. I have used the Memories paper for the tag and the punched brown border (Martha Stewart). White small windows from Prima’s Architecture collection. Clock face and spinners by Tim Holtz. Pink rose by Prima, white roses from Wild Orchid Crafts, pink flowers from Recollections.
The next creation is a tag that I just had to make when I saw this gorgeous paper…
I have cut out the tag with a Tim Holtz/Sizzix die called Tag And Bookplates. I used 1935 for the tag and 1934 for the circles.
The punched paper (Floral Vine punch by Martha Stewart) is 1934 as well. I have painted it with white Gesso to make it a bit lighter.
The third creation is a box with four drawers that I made for my hubby as an eastern present.
I used 1915 for the top and the bottom. I love how sturdy Maja papers are. They are such high quality so you can use them for making boxes and other things that papers from a lot of other brands can’t.
I used the Cherish Punch Around the Page set by Martha Stewart. Flowers from Magnolia and Wild Orchid Crafts. Bling from Prima, pearls made with Pearl Maker Amber. The vintage image and lined paper from the Memories paper.
Just a close-up…
The base is made out of one patterned paper, 1933.
I have cut out the Vintage image (from the Memories paper) using a Nestabilities die (labels seventeen). Background from 1935. All flowers from Wild Orchid Crafts. Pearls from Michaels.
I used the labels seventeen dies again to make the tag where I will write a greeting. I have used 1934 for the largest, 1925 for the middle and ordinary white cardstock for the smallest. I have stamped it with a Tim Holtz stamp using Distress Ink Iced Spruce.
I hope you all got inspired!
